Flowers of the Field

Last weekend, we recieved a check to the tune of $728. It was from our mortgage company, something about compensation and equity and other grown-up words. Visions of a small shopping spree, a nice dinner out, and a large contrubution to our Europe Fund were dancing in my head. On Wednesday, Brad goes to see the dentist about a painful toothache. Who needs a shopping spree when there are crowns to be bought for our teeth? It needed to be done asap, so it was started and paid for that day, the same day the large check deposit came through in our bank account.
My options:
1) Feel depressed that this extra money was spent on unwanted things just days after finding out we had the money and had time to get excited about it.
2) Rejoice that there was provision before we knew we would need it, and the unexpected dental expense didn't cut into our tight budget.

I think I can handle option two. The bill left us with close to $150 to have fun with. Thank you Jesus for feeding the sparrows, clothing the flowers, and paying the dentist bills.

Is it bad that I like "Baby, it's cold outside" so much? It's my favorite non-traditional Christmas song this year, methinks. It's the duet thing. I like that.

Well, I'm not "withtheappleguy" anymore. Er, wait, that's not what I meant. Brad and I are very much together and very much happy. He has had a different tech job, sans macs, at the local major newspaper - The Oklahoman, for almost two months now. He loves it - no more retail life for us. Yes!!!

So, do I need to get a new xanganame? Or maybe I could start my own blog with a cool web address. I mean, since I write so often, buying a domain name would be so justifiable. Or not.

Well, we are having a "blizzard" here in Oklahoma, as I just heard the radio weatherman say. High winds and three inches of snow - gasp! When will we ever be able to leave our homes again. My writing on xanga should be a sign on how the world is near its end.

I love a cappella music - Christmas a cappella.

Hair today...

Locks of Love has a few more inches of hair today. I'm not sure how much was cut off, but I want to say close to a foot of my hair is gone. Here's some before and after pics!!

Thanks to the photographer, Jessica, and the nice lady who cut my hair (for free)!

*edit*Thanks to Lauren too, who told me I could get my hair cut for free! :)

The Indomitable Laptop

I recommend Apple laptops. They are quite durable. I've dropped the laptop that is in my lap right now a few times. Once my foot broke the fall. The other two times the floor did. :) I've also stepped on it a couple times. Well, the charge outlet has been kind of temperamental lately, but for all it has endured in the last 2 years, I'd say it's not bad to replace a $40 part.

Anyways.... Not much exciting here. Summer classes end this week and then it some work and a bit of play. Then back to a crazy school semester this fall!

I leave you with a joke:

Person A- Knock, knock
Person B- Who’s there?
Person A- Control freak….. this is the part where you say “control freak, who?”
